Day 1
This weeekend Helen and I went backpacking in Garibaldi Provincial Park. We left Vancouver just after work and got to the Cheakamus Lake trailhead just before sunset. The last few kilometers of the drive were on a bumby dirt road. As the sky faded into black we hiked into the woods. The campground was only a few kilometers away and was all flat.
Day 2
Today we woke up by a beautiful sunrise over Cheakamus Lake. Since we arrived at night it was quite sereal to see how close our campsite was to the lake.
We had a great breakfast consisting of oatmeal, dried fruit and a crisp apple. We then got back on the trail and headed up towards Garibaldi Lake. It was along day of hiking to the campground but we finished the day with a great swim in the lake.
Day 3
Today was a long day. We hiked all the way back to the Trailhead.
